NAIIS has traditionally dedicated 1 day of the in-person meetings in May to influenza and influenza vaccine recap from the prior year and planning for the upcoming year. However, the National Immunization Conference (NIC) is August 12-14, 2024 this year. And, the in-person NAIIS meeting has been moved to August 15-16, 2024 to coordinate with NIC. Both meetings will be at the same location in Atlanta, GA.
Given the need for partners to plan for the respiratory virus season well before August, the NAIIS will hold a series of virtual meetings in May 2024, including two NAIIS webinars May 16 and 23, 2024 and a NAIIS weekly meeting to specifically address RSV prevention and planning.
May 16: Setting the Stage
Today’s webinar will provide level-setting information on end-of-season vaccination uptake for influenza, RSV, and COVID-19 vaccines for different ages and populations and changes in place of vaccination. Information on attitudes about seasonal vaccines by demographic groups will be discussed.
May 23: Overcoming challenges
Today’s webinar will include a provider panel discussion on challenges and pearls for implementing respiratory virus vaccination efforts, a panel of influenza vaccine manufacturers discussing anticipated challenges for 2024-25 and communications planning, and CDC recap of influenza communications from the prior year and plans for 2024-25.
NATIONAL ADULT AND INFLUENZA IMMUNIZATION SUMMIT (NAIIS) RESPIRATORY VIRUS VACCINES VIRTUAL MEETINGS
To help partners plan for the respiratory virus vaccination season, the NAIIS will hold two webinars on May 16 and 23, 2024 from 2:00-4:30 PM. A May 9, 2024 regular NAIIS 3:00-4:00 PM call discussed RSV prevention, immunization errors, and tools to prevent errors.
