Influenza Workgroup

The NAIIS Influenza Work Group is a diverse multi-sectoral partnership that strives to improve influenza vaccination coverage rates and adult vaccination best practices through systems-level approaches. The Work Group operationalizes these goals by promoting healthcare personnel vaccination, creating tools that encourage safe vaccine administration, and developing resources that encourage more providers to vaccinate. The Work Group includes public health experts, medical center occupational health directors, state and local health departments, the private medical sector, vaccine manufacturers and distributors, academic institutions, and medical professional organizations.

Resources Created by Influenza Workgroup

Tools to Assist Satellite, Temporary, and Off-Site Vaccination Clinics

Satellite, temporary, and off-site vaccination clinics play an important role in improving vaccination coverage rates and vaccinating hard-to-reach populations. These helpful tools were developed to help these clinics meet the unique challenges presented when providing services in these settings.

Tools to Assist Leaders/Administrators in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Facilities Who Plan to Implement an Influenza Vaccination Requirement Policy for Health Care Personnel to Improve Influenza Vaccination Coverage

Influenza vaccination of health care personnel in post-acute and long-term care facilities has been associated with reductions in all-cause mortality among patients and hospitalizations of individuals with influenza-like illness. These helpful tools were developed to help leaders and administrators in these facilities increase the influenza vaccination coverage rates of their staff.

Speakers Bureau

The Influenza Workgroup and our partners have developed slide sets that can be used by anyone. The slides can be modified to fit your needs and can be edited to include your own organization’s logo. The purpose of the slide sets is to explain the resources we have developed in more detail to a broader audience.  There is also a presentation on the American Lung Association’s MyShot campaign that highlights how you can utilize that influenza vaccination campaign for your own needs. All of the slide sets can be included as part of a larger presentation or can be used in their current form. Each slide set also has links to various assets that can be downloaded and included as one-offs in your communications.
