The National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (NAIIS) is dedicated to addressing and resolving adult and influenza immunization issues and improving the use of vaccines recommended by CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. The NAIIS consists of over 700 partners, representing more than 130 public and private organizations. Summit participants include a wide range of professionals from the healthcare industry, public health and private medical sectors, vaccine manufacturers and distributors, consumers, and others interested in preventing illness, disability, and deaths through the use of recommended vaccines.
Broad-based input regarding NAIIS meetings is conducted through the members of the Summit Organizing Committee (SOC). The Summit Organizing Committee consists of three leads: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); and Immunize.org, as well as 14 additional collaborating organizations. The SOC interacts with the immunization community and keeps abreast of public health progress in vaccination uptake. The SOC organizations advise Immunize.org, CDC, and HHS on meeting agendas and participate on workgroups to serve the mission and purpose of the NAIIS.
The two federal agencies on the SOC are CDC and OIDP. Their participation is in alignment with their missions to conduct, support, and encourage others to support such activities as may be required to make information available about immunization to those who should be informed.
