What is the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit?
The National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (NAIIS/Summit) is dedicated to addressing and resolving adult and influenza immunization issues and improving the use of vaccines recommended by CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. NAIIS consists of over 700 partners, representing more than 140 public and private organizations. Summit participants include a wide range of professionals from the healthcare industry, public health and private medical sectors, vaccine manufacturers and distributors, consumers, and others interested in preventing illness, disability, and deaths through the use of recommended vaccines. Broad-based leadership of NAIIS is conducted through the members of the Summit Organizing Committee (SOC).
The financial matters of NAIIS are administered by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC), a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. On behalf of NAIIS, IAC currently receives financial support from GlaxoSmithKline, Health Industry Distributors Association, Merck & Co., Pfizer, Inc., Sanofi Pasteur, and Walgreens. Donations from individuals wishing to support the activities of the Summit also are accepted. Receipt of funding does not influence the activities of the Summit, which are coordinated separately by the SOC.
